2018: MAPS Open-label phase II study


2018: Contribution from the Beckley Foundation to an acute placebo-controlled study in which the effects of several microdoses of LSD on flexible creative thinking are investigated; awarded to Ramaekers & Kuypers


2017: Contribution from the Beckley Foundation to an acute placebo-controlled study in which the effects of a single dose of psilocybin on flexible behavior will be investigated; awarded to Ramaekers, Kuypers and Mason


2015:  ‘DG justice action grants’ research proposal ‘PREDICT’ (Predicting Risk of Emerging Drugs with In silico and Clinical Toxicology) was granted by the European commission.    (I'm part of the research team and supervisor of the post doc)


2011: NWO Open Competition Grant (404-10-309): ‘Come closer: unravelling the neurobiological mechanisms underlying Ecstasy induced prosocial effects’ Co-applicant (Main applicant: Prof Ramaekers)

I have been the initiator of this project; I have designed the studies and I have been the project leader from the start.


2011: NWO-A status incentive from the Executive Board of Maastricht University

I received this money from the University for my VENI proposal that was qualified as ‘fundable’ but it was not funded. The aim of this incentive is to support your research.


2010: EU-FP7 grant: ‘Addictions and lifestyles in contemporary Europe – reframing addictions project (ALICE-RAP)’. Co-applicant (Main applicant: Prof Ramaekers)

I am part of the project team and I am co-supervisor of the PhD student on this project.


2009: NWO/ZonMW Grant: ‘The impulsive brain: genetic moderation of tonic dopamine and vulnerability to cannabis and cocaine abuse’. Co-applicant (Main applicant: Prof Ramaekers)

2008: NWO Open Competition Grant (400-07-213): ‘In search of the missing link between acute and long-term effects of MDMA-use on cognition: Cortisol levels and MDMA-induced memory impairment’ Co-applicant (Main applicant: Prof Ramaekers)

Awards


I received 3 young scientist awards. You could apply for these awards by writing a motivation letter including your CV, providing a support letter, and adding an abstract of current research. Due to these awards, myself and my research were put into the spotlight which contributed to additional network opportunities.


2012: CINP Rafaelsen young investigators award, 28th CINP world congress of neuropsychopharmacology- The international college of neuropsychopharmacology, Stockholm, Sweden. Ten young researchers were selected; I was in the top 5.


2010: European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP) Fellowship Award: €1500. Five young researchers were selected.


2004: International Council on Alcohol, Drugs and Traffic Safety (ICADTS) Young Scientist Stipend: US $1000. Six young researchers were selected.
